Brisbane High-Rise is an active and vibrant club, currently with over 40 members who represent a wide range of business and industry professionals working in the CBD or inner city. We pride ourselves on attracting a diverse membership with a balance of male and female members, across a wide age range of both young or seasoned professionals.

As a Breakfast Club, we offer a convenient and friendly 'make-up' opportunity for any Rotarians or guests visiting Brisbane. We regularly welcome visiting Rotarians from other parts of Queensland, interstate and overseas.  Meetings are always engaging, informative and fun, with notable guest speakers each week.  For business people on a tight schedule our meetings run strictly to time and finish at 8.30.

Through our service projects we strive to make a difference locally and overseas, with a particular focus on youth, health and homelessness. We support the Royal Flying Doctors’ Service to deliver mental health services in rural and remote Queensland.  We have an enduring relationship with St James College in Spring Hill and Albert Park Flexible Learning Centre at Milton.  We have strong connections in East Africa, sponsoring almost 30 students at St Judes School in Arusha and refurbishing and equipping primary schools in Tanzania and Uganda. Our club actively supports the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and National Youth Science Forum.  We are also involved with broader Rotary global programs such as the eradication of Polio, Promotion of Peace, Youth Exchange and Shelterbox.  Find out more about our projects by visiting Club Projects

If you are looking to expand your professional and social networks while actively making a positive difference at a local and global level, then Rotary is for you. We welcome visiting Rotarians as well as those who are interested in understanding what opportunities membership of Rotary can offer.

The Club Leadership Team

The Club Leadership Team (Board) provides, and oversees, the direction of the Club's activities throughout the year.  The Board comprises our President, Past President, President-Elect, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and six Directors.

We have six committees dedicated to the coordination of Club Administration, Membership & Fellowship, Public Relations, Service Projects, The Rotary Foundation and the development and support of Future Leaders (Young People).

Each Club committee is chaired by a Director who reports to monthly Board meetings. The Board also holds 3-4 Club Assemblies during each year at which each Director reports to our membership.

A little bit of High-Rise history

The Rotary Club of Brisbane High-Rise was chartered on 4 June 1993 with 27 members sponsored by Brisbane Mid-City.  We expanded quickly and maintain our numbers at between 40 and 50 members. Of the foundation members many are still active in the club and many others remain in contact.  For 22 years meetings were held at Brisbane's Polo Club, also in the CBD, but when that closed in June 2015 we were welcomed by the Marriott Hotel and more recently, we now enjoy the facilities of the United Service Club. Since chartering, High-Rise has supported many local and international community projects.
